BART VOS

The son of interior designer Henk Vos and brother of Roderick Vos, Bart Vos' love for design was instilled in him from a very young age. After secondary school, he - not surprisingly - started his studies at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. In 1996, Bart Vos designed the Vos Maupertuus shop in Groningen.

Bart Vos' design style consists of several important elements. Firstly, both function and simplicity play a major part. Bart Vos uses solid materials, and his designs consist of straight lines with a clear accent, followed by a comfortable look. A Bart Vos design always starts with a manual sketch, which forces him to think and reconsider.

Today he is in creative charge of Vos Interieur in Groningen. From interior architecture and product design office, he also provides designs for home and abroad. Also at Gelderland, Vos follows in the footsteps of his father and brother but uses his own typical style.

‘People need to get rid of their rigid interior design ideas. Thinking for yourself is very important to me. How do you want to use your home and furnishings? I always try to come up with furnishings that endorse the personality and wishes of the residents. And that does justice to the surroundings.’
