The selection of fabrics we recommend for our furniture is carefully chosen and sourced from internationally renowned fabric collections such as Kvadrat, Gabriel, and De Ploeg. All fabrics come with recognized certifications that represent the highest quality standards. They have also been tested for good environmental qualifications, such as the Ecolabel or ISO standards.
Unfortunately, fabrics tend to fade over time to some extent due to the influence of light. However, it's crucial to avoid direct sunlight on your furniture. Additionally, furniture fabrics are sensitive to sharp buckles, pet claws, toys, and rings, which can cause permanent damage to the fabric. Stiff denim fabrics can also accelerate wear and tear. Furthermore, darkly dyed (denim) fabrics may release a significant amount of dye.
Furniture with removable back, seat, or arm cushions should be fluffed up weekly. If this is not done adequately, the cushions lose their shape and volume, leading to more creasing. It's also important to vacuum the furniture regularly. Use the appropriate attachment (a soft brush designated for this purpose only) and make sure it has no protrusions that could catch on the fabric. Glide it gently with low suction(!), and when dealing with fabrics with a pile, always follow the direction of the pile. This way, you'll remove dust particles like sand that can cause wear and tear.

Gelderland uses high-quality leather on its products, each with specific characteristics in terms of appearance and feel. Leather is a beautiful natural material that naturally exhibits imperfections such as insect bites, creases, and scars. Variations in colour and texture are part of leather's character as a furniture covering.
For leather to maintain its best condition:
• Wipe the furniture regularly with a damp, clean cloth or a clean chamois. Use water without calcium, as tap water can cause rings.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as it can affect the leather's colour.
• Upholstered furniture with removable back, seat, or arm cushions should be regularly fluffed and/or shaken. If not done enough, the cushions will lose their shape and volume, leading to more creases in the leather.
• For stain removal, quickly remove as much as possible with a spoon. Due to leather's properties, stains will often "sink into" the leather over time and become less visible. Avoid rubbing too hard in one spot, as it can make the leather shiny or stretch.
Tip: Maintain an environment with proper humidity (40-60%). A too-dry environment can lead to leather drying out, causing cracks or breakage.

Because wood is a natural material, colour and texture differences will occur. Despite careful sorting and processing, these differences can be visible. Natural deviations like stripes, knots, variations in grain, and knots should be considered a part of the product's character. Exposure to daylight and artificial light will naturally cause wooden products to change colour. It is advised to protect the products from direct sunlight and avoid placing them close to a heat source to prevent drying. In times of frost and during the heating season, low humidity in your living environment can lead to damage (cracks/gaps) in wooden furniture. Humidity should be maintained at 40-60% to prevent these issues, which are not covered by the warranty. Air conditioners also permanently remove moisture from the air, causing similar problems. To maintain proper humidity, you can use water containers on the heating or a humidifier. To prevent scratches, it is generally recommended to provide products that are placed on wooden furniture with felt padding.
Solid wooden furniture treated with plant-based furniture oil. For daily maintenance, you can use a damp, non-lint cloth. Any rings can be removed using a steel wool sponge (gently following the grain!). Then, reapply furniture oil and let it sit for a few minutes before buffing with a dry, non-lint cloth.
