With the Prime, Gelderland takes the next step in sustainable furniture production. The sofa is comfortable, refined in every detail and has a nuanced character.
10010 PRIME SOFA
The 10010 Prime was designed by Studio Truly Truly in 2020. The sofa is comfortable, and its thick, almost voluptuous seat makes it look soft yet architectural. The arm cushions hang just slightly over the edge of the slender base, giving the design character.
The Prime is produced sustainably, with particular attention paid to material use. The cushions, arm and backrests can be detached from the frame without much fuss, making them easy to reuse or recycle. In addition, the traditional wooden frame has been replaced by sustainably manufactured aluminium. This method of production (common in the automotive industry) reinvents the current way of thinking about sofa production. Thus, the same frame of the Prime 10010 can be used in several future designs. This takes recycling a step further than the traditional cradle to cradle sustainable materials. When designing the sofa, we replaced much of the foam with natural springs and eliminated 96% of the glueing process. A nice continuation of the sustainable traditions already deeply rooted at Gelderland.
The Prime is available as a straight sofa in many different versions, and it is also available as a corner sofa, armchair and loveseat. Moreover, there is a wide choice of fabrics.
We produce the Prime locally and by hand in our Culemborg factory. The Prime is therefore entirely of Dutch origin. Thanks to our unique strip upholstery, it is also possible to reupholster the Prime, so that the furniture lasts for generations. We give a 7-year guarantee on upholstery fabrics, leather and foam and a 20-year guarantee on the beech body.
